Welcome to Palmetto Lodge No.19 and to our new District 13 website ! Our doors are always open to visitors and fellow Brothers are encouraged to attend. We hope you will find this website to be informative, especially if you are interested in becoming a Mason. Our meetings are on the third Tuesday of every month. Dinner is at 6:30 PM, the business meeting starts at 7:00. Palmetto Lodge No.19 is now located at 316 Hillcrest Drive on the hill at the Laurens Clerk of Court complex. Palmetto Lodge No.19, Laurensville , Laurens District was established on August 7th, 1794 as an Ancient York Lodge. The first meeting was held at the Samuel Saxon home which stood nearby the present Laurens County Courthouse. Palmetto Lodge No.19 meetings were then held at members homes until they received the Grand Lodge of South Carolina AFM official charter on December 27th, 1848. In later years the county and city was named Laurens, S.C. Palmetto Lodge No.19 AFM then grew and flourished occupying several different buildings around county square and in 1931 consolidated with Laurens Lodge 260 AFM. Then in 1954 on a hill overlooking the Laurens by-pass highway 76 it built a beautiful Masonic Temple by raising money selling life memberships, and sizable gifts from the Eastern Star Chapter and personal donations. The Lodge now stands as a monument to the long deceased Brothers of Palmetto Lodge No.19 of which each member can be justly proud.
